Outback with a radio.
Found this on youtube and just had to share it..
Commentary on the world around us by an 'ordinary Aussie'. I believe that the individual, their rights, freedoms and aspirations form the basic building blocks of a free society. I'm for; .Individual Rights, Freedom, Responsibility; .An Australian Republic (with a directly elected Head of State with real, codified reserve powers); .A Bill of Rights (with RKBA); .Direct Democracy (Initiative, Referendum, Recall); .Accessable, quality education; .A strong defence force; .Free markets.

This might be interesting for me if I decide to become a radio amateur.
Hope you do Pete.
I have my licence now (VK2PCR). I suspect CH regs would be much the same (most countries standardise to the ITU - Int'l Telecommunication Union), probably 3 levels of licence and the first level is easy to pass.
You'd have ready made sked-buddies - and you can get some cheap and simple 20 meter gear and get on air quick.
I think this is the Swiss equivalent of our WIA and the US ARRL;

And, even if you don't get a rig to start with, you can use Echolink and IRLP (access ham repeaters via the internet basically - you could even remote into our local repeater.
There's a whole new world out there Pete.
